Masters Swimmers Start
Spring With a Kick
I
t was only the second day of spring,
and the MAC masters swimmers were
already tearing up the competition at
the first 25-yard pool meet of the season
March 21.
The event was the Tualatin Hills annual
pentathlon meet. More than 100 swim-
mers came to race in one of the three
pentathlon categories: sprint (50 yards of
each stroke and a 100 IM); middle (100
yards of each stroke and a 200 IM) and
distance (200 yards of each stroke and a
400 IM).
Seven MAC swimmers entered
and completed the pentathlon: Kelsey
Bowen, Mike Dowd, Edward Mann,
Joaquin Romera, Michael Silvey, Eric
Wan and Brent Washburne. Dowd swam
the distance pentathlon; Bowen and
Washburne swam the middle pentathlon;
