PE 100 PHYSICAL FITNESS: .5-1 UNIT
Hours: 1.5-3 lab LOW IMPACT CSU, UC
AEROBICS
A floor and/or water activity class for improved individual and cardiovascular fitness. Low impact aerobics
with varying degrees of intensity that include flexibility, nutritional information, strength training, and
stress reduction. Designed for persons who are overweight, over fat, obese, over 50, and seniors, as well
as individuals with little or no exercise experience. Advisory: Medical doctor permission if there is a health
issue. Repeatable.
PE 102 AEROBIC .5-1 UNIT
Hours: 1.5-3 lab; 9-18 weeks KICKBOXING CSU, UC
Activity class designed for improved cardiovascular fitness. Kickboxing, strength training, flexibility, and
stress reduction. Repeatable.
PE 103 INTRAMURAL .5-4 UNITS
Hours: 1.5-12 lab; 9-18 weeks MEN’S BASKETBALL CSU, UC
Beginning through advanced basketball techniques, methods of individual and team play. Focus will be on
offensive and defensive skills, and game strategy. Formerly PE 003. Repeatable.
PE 104 SPORTS MANAGEMENT 3 UNITS
Hours: 3 CSU
This course is designed to examine the academic and professional requirements of coaching and
administrating a sports program. Students will be exposed to the breadth of the coaching & administrating
profession by examining philosophy, goals, objectives, ethics, and practical task orientations.
PE 105 ELEMENTARY SCHOOL 3 UNITS
Hours: 3 lec PHYSICAL EDUCATION CSU
Instruction in planning activities for elementary school age children for the classroom and playground. This
will include the selection of games and movement experiences. Students will be introduced to elementary
games, relays, rhythm activities, stunts, tumbling, and sport skills.
PE 108 TRACK AND FIELD 1 UNIT
Hours: 9 lec, 27 lab; 1-week AND CROSS CSU, UC
COUNTRY SKILLS
A fitness course that will teach and/or further one’s knowledge in track and field. The class activity is
designed to improve many areas in physical fitness, including: all events in track and field, cardiovascular,
muscle toning, flexibility, and stress reduction. Repeatable.
PE 109 GOLF .5 UNIT
Hours: 3 lab; 9 weeks CSU, UC
Beginning through advanced golf. Methods of individual technique and basic fundamentals. Formerly PE
009. Repeatable.
PE 110 SOCCER .5 UNIT
Hours: 3 lab, 9 weeks CSU, UC
Basic instruction of the fundamental skills necessary to play the game of soccer. Offensive and defensive
skills and strategy, as well as rules of the game will make up the course content. Repeatable.
PE 111 FLAG FOOTBALL .5 UNIT
Hours: 3 lab; 9 weeks CSU, UC
Basic instruction on the fundamental skills necessary to play the game of flag football. Offensive and
defensive skills and strategy, as well as rules of the game will make up the course content. Repeatable.
