CSCI 154 INTRODUCTION TO 3 UNITS

IMAGING
This course is an introduction to the basics of digital imaging, the fast-changing world of image-making in
the digital realm, emphasizing computer graphics concepts and methods used in the printing, publishing,
and advertising industries, and visual imaging in the fine arts and photography. Concepts, methods and
examples of 2D and 3D animation will be included. Exercises and assignments focus on the fundamentals
of understanding, creating, and editing digital images using a digital camera, scanner, computer hardware,
and software such as Photoshop. Advisory: Familiarity with computers. Cross-listed with AOM 154 & ART

CSCI 156 DIGITAL IMAGING 3 UNITS
Hours: 2 lec, 3 lab FOR THE WEB CSU
This two-part course focuses on understanding and creating computer graphics for web sites. The
components of compelling web sites, those sites that contain rich media, and how they work will be
explored. The class will use hands-on assignments and tutorials to learn about the specific limitations,
opportunities, and requirements of digital imaging for the web. Cross-listed with AOM 156 and ART 156.

CWEE 010 GENERAL WORK EXPERIENCE 1-3 UNITS
Hours: 75 hours per unit at a paid job, 60 hours at a nonpaid or volunteer job.
Jobs held by students enrolling for this course need not be related to their occupational goals or college
programs. The purpose of this course is to assist students in acquiring desirable work habits, attitudes, and career
awareness through supervised employment. A student may enroll for up to 3 units of credit per semester to a
maximum of 6 units that may be applied for graduation credit. General Work Experience is NOT transferable to
four-year colleges and universities. Prerequisites: Minimum 2.0 GPA or approval of (CWEE) Program Coordinator.

CWEE 012 CAREER PLANNING & 1 UNIT
Hours: 1 lec JOB SEEKING SKILLS
Developing skills necessary for making career choices and obtaining gainful employment. Includes self-
concept, values, interests, skills assessment, exploration of career information and trends, resume writing,
job interviews, and how to keep a job. Formerly CWEE 451.
CWEE 102-122 OCCUPATIONAL WORK EXPERIENCE
Hours: 75 hours per unit working at a paid job, 60 hours per unit at a nonpaid or volunteer job.
Students are encouraged to enroll in this course to attain practical experience directly relevant to career
and occupational goals. Students must show evidence of improvement in stated job related objectives in
a supervised work environment in order to receive (CWEE) credit. “Credit for working” is NOT the course
intent. A student may enroll for up to 8 units per semester (or summer) to a maximum of 16 units that
may be applied for graduation credit. Some transfer institutions limit the amount of Occupational Work
Experience units that they will accept. See the (CWEE) Program Coordinator or contact the transferring
institution for details. Prerequisites: Declared vocational major, Minimum 2.0 GPA or approval of (CWEE)
Program Coordinator. Repeatable.
