AG 112 AGRICULTURE SALES 3 UNITS
Hours: 2 lec, 3 lab AND COMMUNICATION
This course involves the study of principles of the selling process: selling strategies and approaches, why and
how people buy, prospecting, and customer service. Self-management, communication, and interpersonal
skills necessary in developing leadership qualities, and facilitating teamwork within the agribusiness sector
will be explored. Students will gain experience through role-play and formal sales presentations.
AG 120 INTRODUCTION TO 3 UNITS
Hours: 2 lec, 3 lab ANIMAL SCIENCE CSU
This course is a survey of the livestock industry, supply of animal products, and their uses in animal
production. There is a special emphasis on the origin, characteristics, adaptation, and contributions of
farm animals to the agriculture industry. The student will analyze the economic and environmental roles of
animal production and companionship to society. A survey of nutrition, genetics, reproduction, behavior,
growth and development of animals is included. Animal products, biosecurity, and food processing will
also be addressed.
AG 125 ANIMAL FEEDS 3UNITS
Hours: 2 lec, 3 lab AND NUTRITION CSU
The science of animal nutrition; the fundamentals of digestion and absorption in both ruminants and non-
ruminants are discussed. The nutritive value of feeds as they relate to the formulation of livestock rations
will be emphasized including by-product feeding.
AG 130 LANDSCAPE PLANT 3UNITS
Hours: 2 lec, 3 lab MATERIALS AND USAGE CSU
This course involves identification, growth habits, culture and ornamental use of landscape and indoor
plants adapted to climates of California. Plants emphasized will come from the current California Association
of Nurserymen & Garden Centers (CANGC); covers those plants best observed and studied in the spring of
the year.
AG 132 TURFGRASS 3 UNITS
Hours: 2 lec, 3 lab MANAGEMENT CSU
This course is an introductory course in the maintenance and management of turf grasses that includes sports
athletic fields, golf courses, parks, cemeteries, commercial, and residential lawns. Discussion will focus on
identification, installation, cultural requirements, and maintenance practices for all landscaping situations.
Emerging areas of sports, golf course, and recreation turf management to be included. Repeatable.
AG 134 LANDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION 3 UNITS
Hours: 2 lec, 3 lab AND INSTALLATION CSU
This course covers the fundamentals of landscape construction, including soil preparation, paving and
construction materials, hand and power tool use, turf and plant installation, plan reading, estimating, and
bid preparation; also covers local codes, state requirements, and new technologies. Prepares students to
pass the C-27 Landscaping Contractor’s License exam. Repeatable.
AG 136 LANDSCAPE BUSINESS 3 UNITS
Hours: 2 lec, 3 lab MANAGEMENT CSU
This course is an introduction to professional landscape business management practices, including bidding,
estimating, contracts, business start up, laws and regulations. Developing a landscaping business with
public relations and competitive pricing based on best management practices will be covered.
AG 140 BEGINNING 3 UNITS
Hours: 2 lec, 3 lab AGRICULTURE METAL FABRICATION
This course is designed to provide basic shop and job site fundamentals of welding; to allow students to
design and apply arc and mig welding techniques as well as acetylene cutting in the field. Repeatable.
