Stephanie Talton Williamson, M.D. - (813) 866-4200
Since her arrival to the Tampa Bay area almost 8 years ago, Dr. Stephanie Talton-Williamson has worked hard to realize her
dream of having her own-private practice. After completion of her medical training atT ulane University School of Medicine
iii New Orleans, LA in 1999 she moved to Tampa and started working in “the real world”.
As an internist Dr. Talton-Williamson treats a variety of illnesses that afflict adults, to include, diabetes, hypertension, heart
disease, and thyroid disease, to name a few. Most of the diseases seen by physicians are treatable and can allow patients to live
meaningful and productive lives. Furthermore, with early intervention some may even be preventable!T his is based on the
knowledge that with healthy lifestyle choices a large majority of individuals can experience disease free lives. Lifestyles that
incorporate exercise, well balanced diets, stress management and abstinence from tobacco and alcohol can payoff in the long
run. She further adds, numerous studies show reduction in the incidence of hypertension, stroke, diabetes, heart disease,
and certain cancers if these measures are taken. Dr. Talton-Williamson feels having a routine physical to have basic health
maintenance tests performed is also key to early prevention. Based on a persons age a variety of tests are
recommended for“ health maintenance”, including cholesterol screening, blood pressure monitoring, EKG, colonoscopy,
breast exams (mammography for women, and PSA (prostate cancer) screening for men.
Dr.T alton-Williamson encourages having an open relationship with ones physician, which includes dialogue between both
