This event is also about changing the
public’s perceptions about life for those
in wheelchairs – showing that there is life
after spinal injury and it can be active and
adventurous with the right network of
support. Sandycove Kayak Club has been
involved throughout the training for this
event and some of their members will be
taking part.
Proceeds from this event will go
directly towards supporting those living
with spinal cord injury in Ireland as they
try to rebuild their lives. On average
one person a week in Ireland sustains a
spinal cord injury.
SII aims to raise €50,000 during this
event and has developed a number of
support options for both organisations
