interconnected and both Handel and Hendrix have blue
plaques which is an interesting crossover!” The Museum opened in
2001 and is the first in London to be dedicated to a composer.

Cossington’s Handel Festival will feature Devon Baroque, the
chamber orchestra led by internationally renowned violinist and
former leader of The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment,
Margaret Faultless, who has worked with such conductors as
Sir Simon Rattle, Sir Roger Norrington and Sir Mark Elder.
Devon Baroque specialises in historical performance practice and
performs using original 18th century instruments or carefully copied
reproductions. The vocal soloists for the outdoor concert
performance of Acis and Galatea will be soprano Amy Carson,
mezzo soprano Annie Gill, tenors Malcolm Bennett and Nicholas
Mulroy, and bass-baritone Matthew Brook – all busy young
professionals with strong profiles in the Early Music World.
Commenting on the Festival Julie Anne said: “The Handel Festival
realises a dream of Stanley. He would have been thrilled with the
programme that we have put together and delighted to welcome
an ensemble of Devon Baroque’s calibre, with a well-deserved
reputation for ‘exuberant and polished performances’.”
