Our sandwiches laughed in the face of the delicate triangles
normally associated with afternoon tea – these were thick with
fillings like mozzarella, pesto and sun blushed tomatoes. Sweet
little petit fours were devoured while we greedily feasted our
eyes upon the awaiting scones. However, the star of the show
was clotted cream so thick you could stand a spoon in it. We

used those scones mainly as a vehicle for that.

offers a welcome change to the ubiquitous coffee chain bars
springing up on every corner. Will I be back? I couldn’t stay
