DMi introduces redesigned Boston
Acoustics CI range
DMi D&M Installation has introduced a complete redesign of its market leading Boston Acoustics’
range of CI in-wall and in-ceiling speakers.
The redesigned VSi and HSi series, debuted at ISE 09, introduces numerous design innovations,
improved audio performance, versatility and ease of installation. An increased number of models
include more three-way designs, ultra-compact ‘lighting can’ style designs and humidity resistant
models for outdoor and wet environments.
The new series comprises more than 25 new in-wall and in-ceiling designs. Design
innovations include a dramatic 70 per cent reduction in the visible bezel, providing for
improved fl ush to surface mounting. Magnetically attaching grilles greatly improve ease of
installation and servicing.
The new HSi in-ceiling range includes the HSi H460T2 high humidity, weather resistant
model, a two-way design ideal for outdoor use, or in bathrooms, sauna or swimming pool
areas.
Two unique new miniature in-ceiling models - the HSi 430 and HSi 435 - are designed to
resemble small lighting can fi xtures, and feature a round and square bezel form respectively.
With remarkable sound quality and dispersion, these offer even further opportunities for
installers to provide discreet installations. The matching HSi S6W2 dual six inch subwoofer is
a bandpass design which also physically matches small lighting fi xtures; sound is outputted via
dual bass tubes, connected to frames the same size as the HSi 430 and HSi 435.

CYP/// presents HDMI over Coaxial solution
With an ever expanding portfolio of products, CYP (UK) has introduced the new RE-CAC set, designed for carrying
v1.3 HDMI signals, at 1080p 12bit, over coaxial cable.
This clever unit has been developed with the installer in mind, to provide a v1.3 HDMI solution, for use where
existing coaxial cabling is diffi cult to replace. This solution is particularly useful in situations where the
end user is looking to replace RGBHV projectors with new HDMI projectors, often found
in hotel conferencing, public houses, and club scenarios.
Using the RE-CAC set, comprising a transmitter and receiver unit,
the HDMI source can be connected to the transmitter, which allows the
HDMI content to be sent to the receiver via the existing Coaxial cable
(5 BNC’s). The receiver provides a HDMI output for connection to the
new HDMI projector, totally negating the need for replacing the existing
coaxial cabling, and avoids costly cable replacement and refurbishment
work.
The receiver can be powered locally via the power adaptor (supplied)
or is capable of utilising power over the coaxial cable from the transmitter,

for extra ease of use. Other than the obvious benefi ts in terms of installation, the RE-
set from CYP///
CAC set allows HDMI signals to be carried over longer distances than standard HDMI cables.
Using 75Ω (RG6) coaxial cabling (AWG23), the HDMI content can be transmitted 75 metres metres at 1080p 12bit
or 100 metres at 1080p 8bit. Being v1.3 HDMI compliant, ‘deep colour’ and HD audio (8 channel audio) is supported,
along with CEC bypass functionality and PC resolutions (640~480) to WUXGA (1920 x 1200).
