Also at TD was new company, Pearl &
Abacus
Earl, which began life last year. The fl edgling
business describes itself as offering eccentric
Britishness with a hint of nostalgia. One of the ia. One of the
fi rst four designs created was
the Camper and according
to P&E’s Jacqui Pearce it has
been the best seller ever since.
Quite how a German
builder’s van has come
to symbolise ‘eccentric
Britishness’ is open to question
but there’s no doubting us Brit’s
love affair with the Teutonic
Transporter.
Even clearer is that any self-
respecting card shop should
have a Camper in its collection J Salmon
– the blessed things sell like hot
cakes!
