Greetings card retailers can help to ensure the success of the project
by becoming a stockist of a range of cards and fine art prints from Artique.
“Many card shops, museums, garden centre and libraries are already
benefiting from the sales of these cards and prints,” says Sammy Morgan
of Artique. “This whole campaign has touched the hearts of the nation. We
have received over 700,000 letters and donations.
“In 3 months we have raised £1.1 million pounds but have a long way
to go to reach our target. In one respect it is a race against time as the
veterans themselves are aged 86 plus and we hope to have this memorial
in situ for them to commemorate their comrades who gave their lives
between 1939 and 1945 in WW2.”
Artique’s cards play a prominent part in the appeal and are a nostalgic
and historic reminder of times gone by. Some of the images show 65 year-
old air ministry images with the bomber crews in uniform and land army
girls carrying out their.
Having sold over £50k worth cards so far the aim is to sell over a
million by the end of June 2009.
