1962 GSM Lebanon
Were you awarded the 1962 General Service Medal with the ‘Lebanon’ Clasp?
The Corps Medal Rolls Committee will shortly be assembling the material for the Lebanon Roll,
but are short of an illustration of the medal. If you were awarded the Lebanon clasp, would you
please consider providing us with a high quality photograph, or, even better, a 300 dpi scan in
either TIFF or JPEG format. Due to the technical skills of our graphic designers, we do not
necessarily need the whole medal, we can make do with just the clasp. If you can help, please
send to either Captain John Borer on john.borer@tiscali.co.uk (or 23 The Glebe, Cuxton,
Rochester, Kent ME2 1LW), or to Ms Beverley Kelly at Sapper Magazine, RHQ RE, Brompton
Barracks, Chatham, Kent ME4 4UG or on sappermag@royalengineers.com

TDSB, 1 RSME Regiment, and they will be attempting to break/set a WORLD RECORD for the fastest

Royal Engineers Benevolence
Some examples of help we have ben able to provide:
Thank you for your very kind and generous contribution towards the cost of a new
front door and screen. This has made such a difference as I feel much safer and
also more secure in the knowledge that this door is now wind and watertight.
Mrs M, Fife
On behalf of my wife and myself I thank you for our Christmas gift given via
S.S.A.F.A. As we have now reached our late Eighties we wonder where the years
have gone. I always think of “our” Chatham and my time at Gun Wharf and the
Lines. I am proud of the Corps and keep in touch by the “Sapper” magazine.
Once more many thanks. Mr E, Surrey
I cannot thank you enough. Your kind donation towards the cost of my mothers ‘Rise/Recliner’ Chair
has made such a difference to her confidence. My mother is now able to sit safely, securely and feel at
ease when rising from the chair.
All you do for people like my mother and of other comrades throughout Britain and the world can
never be ignored. I for one will never forget. Mr A, Reading
My very sincere wishes and thanks for all the things you are doing for me. It has and is helping me to
enjoy life much more and at 90 years of age I am so thankful to you all. Mr C, Harrow
Thank you very much for your kind funding so that I was able to have an Electrically Powered
Scooter from the Royal British Legion. Mrs P, Berkshire
My husband and myself would like to say a big thank you for the help we have received from you all.
