I’m a Taxi Driver
I’m a taxi driver
driving everyday
having an okay time
till some arsehole
refuses to pay
I have a taximeter
and a radio too
I get my jobs off the rank
and drive around
for you.
I’m always at the ready
when it’s my turn off the rank
I need to make the money
to put it in the bank.
A hackney or private hire
it doesn’t really matter
we work so hard all day
and night our motors take a batter
When it comes to going home
my work it doesn’t stop
I get in then the ‘er indoors’
wants to go to shop
Anyway no moaning
I leave my cab upon the street
I’m off to have some dinner
an I’ll put up my feet
