We Have a Voice at the Table
San Diego Pride represents the interest of the San Diego LGBT community as a member and supporter
of the Greater San Diego Business Association, Consolidated Associations of Pride, Inc. (CAPI), the In-
ternational Association of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Pride Coordinators (InterPride), the In-
ternational Festival and Events Association, the International Lesbian and Gay Association (ILGA), the
National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, the American Civil Liberties Union, the Human Rights Commis-
sion and the San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau (ConVis).
San Diego Pride is a founding member of InterPride (The International
Association for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Coordina-
tors). Founded in 1982 in Boston, Massachusetts, as the National Associa-
tion of Lesbian and Gay Pride Coordinators, InterPride promotes LGBT
Pride on an international level, increases networking and communication
among Pride Organizations, encourages diverse communities to hold and
attend Pride Events, and acts as a source of education.
The Consolidated Association of Pride, Inc. (CAPI) is made up of GLBT
Pride coordinators in Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Utah and the
country of Mexico. Member committees range from some of the largest in
the world (San Francisco and Christopher Street West), to some of the
smallest, with midsize events well represented in the rank-and-file. CAPI
is a very active association with a governing Board of five officers, provid-
ing a number of services to its members. San Diego Pride is a founding
member of CAPI and currently serves on the Board of Directors.
The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force Foundation is an organization of
people, a grassroots force of individuals of every description, joined to-
gether in common purpose - creating positive change in the lives of lesbian,
gay, bisexual and transgender Americans.
Working to achieve equal rights on a global scale since 1978, the Interna-
tional Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association is a world-
wide network of national and local groups dedicated to achieving equal
rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender and intersex (LGBTI) peo-
ple everywhere. 670 member organizations from small collectives to na-
tional groups and entire cities, represent every continent and over 110
countries.
ILGA is the only international non-profit and non-governmental commu-
nity-based federation focused on presenting discrimination on grounds of
sexual orientation as a global issue.
The International Festivals & Events Association (IFEA) is The Premiere Asso-
ciation Supporting and Enabling Festival & Event Professionals Worldwide.
The Greater San Diego Business Association (GSDBA) supports small busi-
nesses in San Diego while advocating for mainstream acceptance of diversity.
