DEMOLITION STARTS AT THE FERRIER ESTATE
IN KIDBROOKE, SOUTH EAST LONDON
Berkeley Homes (Urban Developments) Ltd and the Greenwich Council today
(5th March 2009) celebrated the start of demolition at the Ferrier Estate in
Kidbrooke, South East London.
The demolition marks a significant step forward in the £1 billion regeneration
of the 1970s built estate adjacent to Eltham Green and Meadowside. The
demolition work is being carried out by Croydon-based firm Kennedy
Demolition, with work starting at the Elford Close part of the estate.

The Project Details
The new scheme will provide 4,000 new homes within a comprehensive mixed-

tenants of the Ferrier Estate and will comprise three and four bedroom houses,
one, two and three bedroom apartments and one and two bedroom extra care
apartments for the elderly.
Phase 1 of the development will comprise 449 houses and apartments, of which
220 are for private sale and 229 are affordable homes. The affordable homes
will comprise 159 subsidised rental, 49 intermediate key worker rental and 21
shared equity.
Berkeley Homes plans to commence construction during spring 2009, with the
first tenants expected to move in early in 2010.
