INTRODUCTION TO MICROSOFT OFFICE 2007—This course provides students with
a basic understanding of how a computer works, introduces the personal computer, and explores

business uses of the computer using the Microsoft Office Quick Course. ■
WINDOWS XP OR VISTA— Introduces the student to the fundamental skills required to use ■

all Windows programs. Develop basic techniques for working with programs, file management,
■
system settings, and utilities. Prerequisite: Introduction to Computers and/or previous computer
experience.

MICROSOFT EXCEL 2007 (BEGINNING)—This class teaches the basics of the Excel
■
spreadsheet program. Included topics: terminology, data input and editing, formula creation and ■ AL EDUC
use, graphics, and cell manipulation. Prerequisite: Introduction to Computers.
■
MICROSOFT EXCEL 2007 (INTERMEDIATE)—Additional spreadsheet projects
■
including templates, multiple worksheets, data tables, macros, web queries, scenario manager,
pivot tables, database functions, creating a web page from worksheet data, and integration
■
projects using other applications. Prerequisite: Introduction to Excel.

MICROSOFT EXCEL 2007 (ADVANCED)—
■
This course provides an overview of the advanced capabilities of Microsoft Office Excel,
■
including the following: working with advanced formulas, formatting and web queries,
performing calculations on data, analyzing data, working with financial functions, and linking
■

and embedding objects. Prerequisite: Intermediate Excel. ■
MICROSOFT POWERPOINT 2007—This course teaches you how to produce powerful ■
and effective presentation graphics. Students will plan, define, create and modify presentations, as
■
well as work with text and objects and create an on-screen slide show. Prerequisite: Introduction
to Computers.

MICROSOFT ACCESS 2007 (BEGINNING/INTERMEDIATE)—Course provides
■
instruction in the understanding and use of the database management program. Instruction ■
includes terminology, structure planning and creation, data input and manipulation, form
■
designing, label and report formatting, and use of queries. Prerequisite: Introduction to
Computers.
■
MICROSOFT OUTLOOK 2007—This course provides an overview of the capabilities of
■
Microsoft Outlook 2007: organizing and managing e-mail, how to send and receive e-mail
■
messages with and without attachments, reply-to and forward messages, create folders to manage
messages, and create appointments in the calendar.

MICROSOFT EXCEL 2007 (BEGINNING) ONLINE—

This new online series begins with the Microsoft Excel spreadsheet program that you can learn
from the comfort of your home or office. You will learn the new Ribbon, data entry, AutoFill,
■
AutoSum, formulas, functions, formatting, cell manipulation, graphics, and charts. The course ■
includes hands-on assignments, quizzes, and a discussion forum. You have ten weeks to complete
■
