MEET THE STAFF - JACKY PALMER
JACKY HAS THE REMARKABLE distinction of having worked for all bar the
first two Secretaries/Chief Executives of the Herd Book over the course of
her 35 years of service at Scotsbridge House. This time has been divided
into two sections, 10 years before having her family and then almost 25
years since returning to work in 1984. Jacky is now Office Manager, respon-
sible for the operation of Membership Services, CIS processing, classifica-
tion administration and the post room. “No two days are the same, and I
really enjoy the daily interaction with members”, she says.
Married since 1970 to Trevor, a self-employed heating engineer, Jacky is
mother to Lee and Linda and now the proudest of grand mothers to Lee’s
first child, Lily-Belle. Jacky’s daughter Linda is currently 11 months into
a round the world trip, echoing the enjoyment of travel that Jacky and
PEOPLE
Trevor share, cruising around Europe in their motorhome.
With half an eye on retirement, Jacky is currently looking to move away
from the area, but only to the Aylesbury area, around 20 miles away from
her current home and Scotsbridge House.
LEFT Becky Kent and James Waring, next generation to manage the Winton herd,
were recently married. Becky has left her job at DairyCo and become a lecturer in
livestock production at Bishop Burton College, a great deal closer to the couple’s
new home in East Yorkshire.
