“We continue to be committed to the needs of and build-
ing relationships with our employees and their families,
with our customers, with our suppliers and with our com-
munity,” said Carl Ryan, manager, foundations division.
“We believe that success in business and in life is not
achieved by an individual effort but by a team effort.”
Founded on the principles of family traditions and val-
ues including honesty and integrity, Cotton has evolved to
become a “Complete Concrete Contractor” and attributes
its success to the hard work of its employees and to its com-
mitment to treat others with respect. This principle has
helped the company develop long-term relationships with
their customers, suppliers and employees.
As a full service concrete contractor with over 100 em-
ployees, Cotton Inc. is the only company in Niagara to sup-
ply all phases of a project.
“From installing the underground services, excavation
& trucking, constructing the footings and foundation walls,
waterproofing, backfilling and then the completion of your
flat work as well,” said Ryan. “Through this approach we
strive to ensure that every project is completed on time and
on budget. And because we monitor and control each phase
of the operation, the end result is a high-quality project.”

Insulated Concrete Forms
Over the past ten years Cotton has successfully com-
pleted many projects using Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF)
including multi-storey condominiums, firewalls for town-
houses, grade beams for commercial projects and founda-
tions & above grade for many residential projects. As
developers and builders continue to look for ways to build
economically while providing the maximum value to their
customers and the end user, the advantages of using ICF
continues to grow. Constructing with Insulated Concrete
Forms is an excellent way to achieve points for Leadership
in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) for newly-
constructed buildings.
