SCOTT STEEL ERECTORS
the proper way
GINA MONACO – The GTA Construction Report Special Feature
There were two reasons ironworker Dan Scott de-
cided to strike out on his own in 1989: he saw a need
for a company that could provide a one-stop shop for
erecting pre-engineered and conventional steel build-
ings; and he saw a need for a company that could op-
erate properly. By ‘properly’, Scott meant focusing on
three key elements: safety, quality and scheduling. So
he put together a strong team of professionals and
Scott Steel Erectors was born.
“Basically, what we do is provide the labour, equip-
ment and tools to install and erect steel buildings,”
Scott said.
Today, 20 years later, Scott and his team are still
growing strong and continue to challenge themselves
with larger projects, working across Canada and de-
veloping an overseas presence.
The company’s work ethic is closely aligned with
the three elements of safety, quality and scheduling.
Every project complies with health and safety regula-
tions and they have undertaken professional testing of
safety systems. “We make sure that all of our projects
are safe environments for our workers, which makes us
more efficient,” Scott added.
