NEW LEADER: Nancy Branch replaces Don Shelley as principal of
CTA-Independence for the 2009-10 school year. Branch has served
as principal at Kyrene del Milenio since 2003 and as regional lead
principal for the Kyrene Elementary School District since 2003.
She has worked in Kyrene since 1990 as a teacher and in various
leadership roles. In 2008, she was named Kyrene Administrator
of the Year by the Kyrene Schools Foundation and Tempe Schools
Credit Union. Shelley is leaving the school to open Chandler
Traditional Junior High.
Erie Eagles
Erie’s got talent – Tryouts for the Erie Talent show will be held Wed., April 1 after school, and the
show will be held Thu., May 7. Parent volunteers are needed to help our show be a success. Contact
Marianne, our school secretary, if you can assist our students.
Theatre Club starts – Ms. Clara Row, music teacher, is forming the Erie Musical Theatre Club.
Students in grades 4 to 6 interested in theatre are wanted. Parent volunteers may call Ms. Row at 480-
