HISTORY
Executives and professionals of chapters of The Arc are
working tirelessly across the country to set standards
for providing services to people with developmental
disabilities, to educate their members and the public,
and to become involved in their communities. They
are making the United States a better place in which
to live for people with disabilities, their families and
friends. The NCE Awards Program was commissioned
to recognize these executives and professionals
for their outstanding efforts on behalf of The Arc.
Launched in 1980, the program was designed
to recognize the professional excellence of NCE
members, and those people outside the membership
who make signifi cant contributions to our professional
organization. Nominees for awards are solicited from
all NCE members, and from the leadership of The
Arc throughout the United States. Selection of award
winners is made by the Awards Committee, or the NCE
Board of Directors, who are peers of the nominees.
The Awards Committee appreciates the efforts of
everyone involved in the nominating process. Thanks
to everyone who participated, NCE is once again able
to recognize and share the exceptional achievements
of its members.
