WG present Spring Collection
Washington Green presented their spring 09
collection at the ICC in Birmingham last month despite
unfavourable weather conditions. Those who braved
the near Arctic conditions were not disappointed
according to marketing director, Sam Jackson.
She said: “This spring we presented two brand new
artists, Ge Feng & Lesley-Anne Derks. Ge Feng
brought us his unique and very cutting edge graffi ti
inspired art, whilst Lesley-Anne Derks presented her
beautifully serene and soft cityscapes.”
She Continued: “Also new this season is Neil
Dawson’s forthcoming tour - NYLON - featuring
vibrant images of London and New York and Caroline
Shotton presented us with two more ‘Moosters’
inspired pieces amongst others. Simon Claridge also
introduced his fabulous brand new ‘Diamond Dust
Collection’ featuring iconic females from past and
present with that extra touch of sparkle!”
Calling all artists
Sam concluded by making special reference to the
recent demise of Govinder Nasram: “Obviously it goes and photographers
without saying that there was one incredibly important Stag fi ne art & photography, through
and talented person who didn’t make the Spring Event for the fi rst time in ten years, but Govinder... you Forever Canvas, are looking for artists and

Landscapes Expressions Exhibition
Photographer Mark Sunderland is collaborating with the Harrogate Printmakers group
of artists in a new exhibition entitled Landscape Expressions at ‘Art in the Mill’ in
Knaresborough, North Yorkshire.
Mark told Picture Business: “My recent work has been exploring the use of camera
movement to produce a more abstract view of the landscape. Initially I was working with
moving subjects such as waterfalls and the sea and accentuating the movement with the
camera to produce images with a more painterly quality. In my new Dales Light images
I have taken this a step further and am working with still subjects and using camera
movement to blur and remove detail from the photographs, concentrating more on colour,
shape and light.”
He continued: “I’m looking forward to seeing these new images alongside the printmakers
work and comparing two very different techniques for expressing the landscape.”
The exhibition runs until Sunday April 26th at ‘Art in the Mill’, Green Dragon Yard, Off
Castlegate, Knaresborough, HG5 8AU. Opening times: Wed – Sat 11am – 6pm, Sunday
11am – 4pm. Further information Tel: 01423 862963, www.artinthemill.co.uk
