Flavio Amaral
Operations Manager

Flavio Amaral has 15 years of experience in the Internet industry, when he started connecting his university
computer science lab to it back in 1994. Since then, he has worked for Brazilian National Research Network (RNP)
as a System and Security Administrator at PoP-RN, has worked as network administrator at EOL ISP, as an
independent consultant for Internet technologies. He joined Yahoo! Brazil in 2000 where he manages operations for
South America. He is responsible for network peering agreements, ISP market research and infrastructure
deployments. He holds a bachelor degree in Computer Science and a master degree in Electrical Engineering.

Francesco Armato
CEO

Born in Rome, Italy.
Since 2002 Mr. Armato is Executive Vice President in charge of Operation of TI Sparkle in South America, with
direct responsibility over the regional offices, as well as developing business with the International Carriers and
Customers in terms of Voice and IP Data Services. In addition, in 2006 he became CEO of LAN Latin American
Nautilus Group with the aim of reorganizing the company, reducing debt and improving operating results through
the integration with TI Sparkle’s Organization.
Mr. Armato began his career in 1979 as Assistant to the President of 1P Resine S.p.a. (Permaflex Group).
Between 1981 and 1989, Mr. Armato worked as Country Manager at Italtrade, S.p.a., based in Beijing, in charge of
sales and business developing in the People’s Republic of China.
In 1990 he joined the International Division of Telecom Italia Group.
At Telecom Italia, where Mr. Armato began his telecommunications career, he rose through the ranks holding
various positions.
In 1997 he served as Country Manager in New York for Tele Media International, the unit that provided customized
services to the company’s largest MNC.
From 1998 to 2001 he was Director for Carrier Services for North America and Asia Pacific and later for the
Americas

Rafael Arranz
EVP, Marketing Capacity & IP Sales America and Pacific
Telefonica International Wholesale Services

Rafael Arranz has served as Telefonica International Wholesale Services EVP since February 2004 and Vice
President responsible for IP services since December 2001. Prior to that, he was Marketing Vice President for
Emergia since 1999. Mr. Arranz was an Assistant Director of Telefónica International, S.A., where he was directly
involved in its ventures within the international long distance and wireless businesses in South America, as well as
with the privatization of Telebras in Brazil. He was project manager of Telefónica’s Research & Development and
Senior Engineer in ICL-Fujitsu’s branch in Manchester, UK.
He holds a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, an MBA from
Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and an Executive Program from IESE-Harvard.

Geoffrey Biddulph
Director of Latin American Business Development
PCCW Global

Geoffrey Biddulph is the Director of Latin American Sales with PCCW Global -- one of the international operations
of PCCW-- the quad play provider in Hong Kong. Mr. Biddulph is responsible for the business traditionally termed
"wholesale and carrier" specifically for Latin America. Mr. Biddulph has held this role since January 2007 after
having had worked for several of the biggest carriers. Mr. Biddulph graduated from Stanford University in 1985. He
has been living and working in Latin America for 22 years and speaks Spanish and Portuguese fluently, in addition
to his native English.
