President’s Message
As President of the Barrie Construction
Association, I am pleased to present the
2009 edition of the Membership Directory.
The strength of this Association has al-
lowed us to make significant headway on
a number of initiatives that will benefit the
construction industry as a whole. This past
year the Association has successfully lob-
bied Barrie City Hall for the reconstruction
of the proposed Development Charge Act,
significantly impacting building starts in
the years to come. The Association has
also worked very closely with City Hall to
redraft the Site Plan Approval Process. I
firmly believe in this Association and in the
power it can offer to each individual member.
Also this past year we joined the CSAO’s Regional Labour Management Health
and Safety Committee, to give voice to industry concerns and to implement
labour law changes.
We partnered with the Greater Barrie Home Builders Association to completely
build a house in a weekend, with the sale proceeds going to Gilda’s Club Barrie
Chapter.
Members of the Barrie Construction Association share one common goal, that is
to strengthen and develop the Barrie and surrounding area’s business commu-
nity. I would encourage each member to use this directory when pursuing new
suppliers or trades, as every member listed here shares your determination to im-
prove the financial and communal well being of Barrie and surrounding areas.
As always, as a member of the BCA, you will continue to receive your board’s
commitment to dealing with issues that affect you as a construction based
business, deeply discounted printing services, access to the plans room, com-
pany listing in this Member Directory and on the BCA website, advertising oppor-
tunities, free statutory declaration signings, networking and social opportunities
with fellow members, affiliation with COCA and CCA and much, much more.
We are committed to providing the best of services to you, and look
forward to serving you in the coming year.
