On December 1, 2007, at the end
of his fourth term as sheriff, Mike
retired to his farm in Henryville.
His long-term plans were to raise
goats and cattle and encourage future
generations to become dedicated
police officers always ready and
willing to help those in need. His
plans were cut short, however, as he
was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer
on October 1 and died on November
2, 2007. Even though Mike is no
longer with us, his memory and
legacy live on.
