Howdy, and welcome to Deakin in 09!

Whether you’re a long-term student, or new
to the block, Uni life always has something to
offer you!

As a long-term student myself, I’m going to
use my column inches to offer you a few
words from the semi-wise;

Firstly, don’t be shy to ask questions, the people who ask questions always seem the
smartest!

Secondly, grab opportunities as they go past. Uni is your chance to experiment with all
that life has to offer. Never been sky-diving? Join a sky-diving club and get yourself an
education!

Lastly, higher education is a lot more bearable (and fun) if you have people to share it
with. Doesn’t matter if you are studying down the road from campus or from the
depths of a tropical rainforest, building a network of class-mates and joining the
University community is a must! Who else will listen to you whine about confusing
University texts or impending due dates?

For me, Uni is about more than going getting a degree, its also about experiencing life
and getting the most out of every opportunity.

If you do decide you want to get the most out of Uni life, check out www.dusa.org.au
and see what’s there for you!

DUSA is run for students, by students. If you need help, or want to get involved, get in
touch with us at any time!

Hope you have a great start to the year,
