Editorial ramblings on...
Carrie Moore
We’re back again with a very long and full issue!
Thanks to the amazing efforts of the DUSA Distance Campus Committee (DCC) we are breaking down
the barriers and ridding ourselves of the isolation we usually feel as off-campus students.
Firstly, I want to send my deepest sympathies to anyone out there affected by the recent Victorian
bushfires and the devastating floods plaguing up north in Queensland. It’s been a shocking summer for
thousands of hard working Aussies. Us students are generally a bit strapped for cash but if you can spare
anything at all, please donate to the Red Cross Bushfire Appeal (see page 13 for more details on how
you can help).
For the first time, the DCC have organised an O’Week event for ALL distance students to get involved in
so wherever you are in the world you can participate in the O’Week Scavenger Hunt (see page 15) and
chat with fellow students in the Chill Out Forum (page 15).
Don’t be shy and get involved. I’m always looking for contributions so all you writers out there - get
yourself published here! It looks great on your resume! So don’t forget...
