Seth Godin once said if he had to pick one piece of
marketing advice to give you, that would be it. Now go "Make
something happen" today, before you go home, before the
end of the week.
Launch that idea, post that post, run that ad, call that
customer. Go to the edge, that edge you've been holding
back from... and do it today. Without waiting for the
committee or your boss or the market. Just go.
The new year is a good time to take up Seth's advice, I know I
will be.
Finally, as the economic downturn begins to bite there’s never been a better time to re-access your
business goals, business ideas and to review the direction your business is taking. If it needs to
adapt then adapt it, if it needs to change then change it; because if you don’t no body else will do it
for you.
Here are 7 “D’s” that can help keep your business on the right track - jot them down in the back of a
notebook somewhere and use them to track your business over the coming months.
• DESTINATION: Know where you are going
• DREAM: This puts you in the destination lane
• DEADLINE: Set dates to realize your dreams
• DECISION: Make a decision to run the race to win
• DRIVE: Make it happen
• DISCIPLINE: Create habits to move forward
• DETERMINATION: Never give up
