for a year we are not disappointed. With
their assistance we have a more beautiful,
and a more functional building – all done
in a cost-effective way.”
“When we first reviewed the original
budget and design, we strongly felt that the
building was over-designed,” Palazzo ex-
plained. “With our knowledge and experi-
ence in building several other large
convention centres, we could point out
areas where costs could be reduced, yet
never compromising the original vision for
the facility.”
For example, in collaboration with the
structural engineer, TriAxis played a valu-
able role re-designing the structure of the
building to make the design more cost-effi-
cient. By reducing the amount of steel used
in the structure, the International Centre
was able to save hundreds of thousands of
dollars without adversely impacting the
quality and functionality of the building.
Lester is excited with the new building,
which had its ribbon-cutting ceremony in
October 2008. This versatile structure can
accommodate up to 15 different events at
any one time. Designed with the help of
meeting planners, the facility offers 48,000
sq.-feet of elegant, hotel-styled single-level
