NHBA Christmas Dinner
The Niagara Home Builders’ Association held its annual
Christmas Dinner and Elimination Draw on December 2
nd
at
the Club Roma in St. Catharines. The annual Christmas Din-
ner has become part of the holiday tradition for NHBA mem-
bers. “We always think of think of this being the event that
kicks off the Christmas season, since we hold it so early in
December,” said co-chair, Geri Morrone, of Meridian Credit
Union. In fact, this NHBA signature event has been putting
the Niagara homebuilding community into the Christmas
spirit for more than three decades now.
The event was well-attended and it’s no wonder. This
gathering is more than just an excuse to get dressed up and
eat some good food. It’s all about being social and getting
into the spirit of the season. “People will reflect on the past
year and what it’s brought as well as focusing on what is yet
to come. It’s a very relaxed event at a great location with ex-
cellent food. It gives our members a chance to see people
that they may not have seen in a while as well as helping oth-
ers in the community by bringing a gift for Big Brother/Big
Sisters,” said Morrone. For a number of years now, guests
have been bringing with them a gift or two for needy teens
in the Niagara Region. “We delivered at least 200 gifts the
next morning to the Big Brothers/Big Sisters office for dis-
tribution. They were thrilled at the generosity of our mem-
bers,” continued Morrone. Additionally, NHBA members
donated not only generous prizes for the elimination draw,
but also of their time as well to ensure the evening’s success.
The NHBA also announced the recipients of its Member
of the Year and Company of the Year Awards (see accompa-
nying article) at the dinner. Chaired by Bill Klingender,
Burnstein Brick, and Geri Morrone, this event continues in
the tradition of providing its members with a wonderful and
elegant holiday social event that is certain to be looked for-
ward again next year.
