One-stop
shop for
healthcare

“It’s a one-stop shop here for our
patients’ medical services,” Mak says.
“In addition, we have an after-hours
clinic and a physician on call every day.”
Mak’s patients range from newborns
to those in their nineties.
“I see babies who are just two days
old, all the way up to my oldest patient,
who is 95,” she says. “It’s a nice spec-
trum of ages, which makes for a lot of
diversity in terms of the type of medi-
cine I practise.”
Mak divides her time between the
Medical Centre and the new Partners
in Pregnancy Clinic at 170 Simcoe St.,
which provides team-based maternity
and newborn care in a family-friendly
environment.
“I have a special interest in obstetrics,
the field in which I worked when I was
in Alberta, so I was happy to become
part of the Partners in Pregnancy ini-
tiative,” she says.
Mak recommends Peterborough to
other doctors considering setting up
their practices here.
“Peterborough is a small community
with a lot of support for family physi-
