Forestry Management on the Farm
Last year, during one of the many thunderstorms that
roll through the Sonnenburg Valley, the tops of two
tulip poplar trees were blown off! The trees were over
150 years old, measured over 42 inches in diameter,
and were among the tallest trees on the farm (over 150
feet) - but they now had to come down.
