The Inn at Bowman’s Hill offers an
exclusive getaway just around the corner
While guests have come from across the country and around the
world, Amery said many also hail from the local area, with 7 to
8 percent living within a 10-mile drive. After all, it is a perfect
destination for an anniversary, Valentine’s Day celebration, or a
much-needed night away from the kids. Due to the intimate nature
of the property, the inn does not do large weddings, though Amery
said he was honored to host 30 or 40 engagements last year.
Every detail has been considered and it shows. As Amery leads a
tour of his property, he can’t help but straighten a painting on the
wall. Only a perfectionist could run this inn. Yet Amery says that
much of the romance of the place actually comes naturally. “The
property itself has a certain ambiance and vibe,” he said. “I don’t

really believe in karma, but there is something very special here. It
conveys a sense of peace. So the big thing is not to screw it up.”
