Among the most important concepts in exercise is the ability to get your mind and body working
together. Hardly anything teaches that concept better than Pilates. Learning how to control the muscles
we may not even know we have, and how to move more efficiently, can make a massive difference in
a workout, and in our daily lives.
Originally called Contrology by the founder, Joseph Pilates, the intent is to teach people to be
healthier and stronger. Joseph Pilates himself was not well as a child and as a result sought out ways
of improving his physical health and did so successfully. He believed that poor posture and inefficient
breathing were the cause of many health problems for the general public, and he devised exercise

techniques to diminish these inadequacies.

Among the many muscles in our bodies are a set of muscles that support the spine. They are located
