Chandler Baha’i members to L.A.
Members of the Chandler Baha’i community recently attended a regional Baha’i
conference in Los Angeles that was one of 41 conferences held around the world over a four-
month period.
About 30 Baha’is from Chandler attended the regional conference, which attracted
more than 5,700 people, making it the largest of the fi rst 27 gatherings convened to date
by the Universal House of Justice, the international governing body of the Baha’i Faith.
The conference served the Southwest Region of the United States, comprising the states of
Arizona, California, Nevada and New Mexico.
Attendees say the conferences celebrated past achievements and planned for upcoming
activities, such as children’s classes, programs for junior youth, study circles and devotional
meetings.
Founded in 1844, the Baha’i Faith is a world religion with more than 5 million adherents
from virtually every national, ethnic and religious background. The Faith accepts the divine
origin and common purpose of all the major world religions, and teaches that God has
revealed a new message in this day to establish the oneness of humanity.
