IBI GENOMIC DNA KITS (Plant)
The Genomic DNA MINI and MAXI Kits (Plant) provide a fast and economical method to isolate
total DNA (genomic DNA, mitochondrial and chloroplast) from plant tissue and cells. Samples
are disrupted both by grinding in liquid nitrogen and lysis buffer incubation. The lysate is treated
with RNAse A to degrade RNA and fi ltered to remove cell debris and salt precipitates. In the
presence of the binding buffer coupled with chaotropic salt, the genomic DNA in the lysate binds
to the glass fi ber matrix of the spin column. The contaminants are washed with ethanol based
wash buffer. The Genomic DNA is then eluted by low salt elution buffer or water. The protocol
does not require DNA phenol extraction or alcohol precipitation. The entire procedure can be
completed in 30 minutes or less.

IBI TOTAL RNA KITS (Plant)
The total RNA MINI and MAXI Kits (Plant) provide a simple and fast method to isolate total RNA from plant tissue and cells.
Samples are ground in liquid nitrogen and fi ltered to remove debris. In the presence of a binding buffer and chaotropic salt,
the total RNA in the lysate binds to the glass fi ber matrix of the spin column. The optional DNAse treatments can remove
DNA residues and contaminants can be washed with ethanol based wash buffer. Finally, the purifi ed total RNA is eluted by
RNAse-Free water. This protocol does not require phenol extraction or alcohol precipitation, and the entire procedure can be
completed within 60 minutes.

IBI TOTAL RNA KITS (Tissue)
The Total RNA MINI and MAXI Kits (Tissue) are specially designed for purifi cation of total RNA from a variety of animal tissues
and cells. The provided micropestle can effi ciently homogenize tissue samples in a microcentrifuge tube. The method uses
a detergent and chaotropic salt to lyse cells and inactivate RNAse. The RNA in the chaotropic salt is bound by the glass fi ber
matrix of the spin column. Once any contaminants have been removed following the wash step, the purifi ed RNA is eluted by
RNAse-Free water. This protocol does not require phenol extraction or alcohol precipitation, and the entire procedure can be
completed within 1 hour.
