irst impressions count for a lot, so
when the limousine parked outside
the airport turned out to be my
hotel shuttle, I knew instinctively
that I’d love LaSource.
LaSource eyes
Effectively destroyed by 2004’s infamous
Hurricane Ivan, Grenada’s original all-inclu-
sive beach resort finally reopened this sum-
mer after a massive refurbishment. It’s been
a long wait, but the hotel’s loyal clientele –
many of whom have been coming for years
– certainly seem to appreciate the results.
In fact, about 35% of LaSource’s guests
(a significant proportion of whom come
from the UK) are repeat visitors: I met one
Englishwoman on her sixth visit, another on
her seventh and one couple enjoying their
third visit of the year.
“That’s nothing,” laughed general
manager Tony Suttile over a rum punch in
the palm-thatched beach bar. “We’ve got
one British couple arriving next week for
their 17th stay with us!”
