Page 5 TERM 2 LIBRARY NEWS

A huge thank you to all our families who supported the Book Fair. Once again, with your support,

it was a great success. The hard

earned commission will benefit our students with the purchase of new library books. Any requests to be posted into Fido! Nearly all orders from the Book fair have been issued to the students. Just waiting for the Ninjago books to come in! Our Stage 2 and 3 students are progressing well with the Premier’s Reading Challenge. Remember you should have reached the second benchmark by now, 15 books on your reading record! The holidays are a great time for catching up on your reading list, and a great way to relax.

Another great way to extend your reading list is to register with the MS Readathon. The Premier’s Reading challenge books can be included in the count for the readathon!

The MS Readathon inspires children to help people living with MS by collecting sponsorship from family and friends for the books they read. It is free for children to register online and every child who completes the program will receive a special certificate and can be eligible to choose their own ‘Reading Rewards’!

Readathon dates are Wednesday, 1st August 2012 to Friday, 31st August 2012.

Readathon registrations are now open. Find out more at www.msreadathon.org.au

Happy and safe holidays to all.

WORKING BEE - INFANTS GARDENS

A huge thank you to Liz Devlin and her boys, Lachlan and Murray and Kim Meeuwisse and her girls, Ella and Candice who helped in the gardens at last Saturday’s working bee.

A lot was achieved in the two hours. We weeded, pruned and de-suckered quite a big area. I’m sure the gardens will reward us with a wonderful flush of new growth when spring arrives.

If you are dividing any clumps of perennial or native grasses in the holidays, we could use these to fill in a few gaps. Any plants that are frost friendly and water hardy would be much appreciated.

Please give me a call on 6345 4215 if you can help in any way.

Thanks

Anne Bowen KB Teacher
