LOCAL STUD WINS AT STATE DORSET CHAMPIONSHIPS
The 2012 NSW Dorset Championships were held at Cowra on 26-27th
June and ROADWORKS THROUGH GOOLOOGONG
You will have noticed Council has been widening and strengthening the road shoulders on Forbes Road 30-35 kms from Cowra, through the village. The work, under contract for the Roads and Maritime Services (RMS), may cause temporary delays and is expected to finish in mid July. Council apologises for the inconvenience.
local stud Gererdan Poll Dorsets came away with the best strike rate from the event. Owner Chris Marr says ‘it’s important to put your sheep on the big stage to evaluate the stud’s performance against other leading studs. The show ring is very commercially orientated with stud masters producing what the commercial producer demands.’ The show is the second largest showing of Dorset sheep in Australia and this year was the strongest showing ever at the Championships. Studs travelled from Victoria and New England to the Cowra show - the lead up event to the National Dorset Show in Bendigo in September. Congratulations Chris!
