EXCURSION This year, children from Stage 3, have the opportunity to take part in a three day excursion to Canberra from Wednesday, 12th


December to Friday, 14th


December 2012. This excursion is the culmination of the Stage 3 HSIE unit on Government and it is also an enjoyable social experience for all those involved.

The cost will be approximately $260 per student, this amount will be reduced using profit generated by the PIE DRIVE.

COWRA PUBLIC SCHOOL CALENDARS


Going home with this week’s newsletter is a Cowra Public School 2012 Calendar.


On this calendar are 10 absence notes. This calendar is a reminder for when your child/children are absent from school to fill in one of these notes and return them to school. The calendar can also be used to pencil in important school dates and activities.


PEER SUPPORT GROUPS


Next Term (Term 3), the whole school will again take part in Peer Support Groups.


These groups encourage positive relationships between the students and develop communication.


The activities cover art and craft, music, dance, science activities, board games and many more activities.


Students will have the opportunity to rotate each fortnight into different groups to experience


the many activities available.


Congratulations to the Stage 3 students who have been chosen to act as group leaders.


YR 6 ENROLMENT FORMS FOR YEAR 7, 2013


Yr 6 enrolment forms for Year 7 at High School were sent home last week.


These forms need to be checked and returned to Cowra Public School by Friday, 15 June.

N.A.I.D.O.C WEEK Monday, 25 June - Friday, 29 June


Theme for the week is: “Spirit of the Tent Embassy: 40 years on.”


Next week Cowra Public School will be celebrating NAIDOC week with lots of activities.


Student learning will have an Aboriginal


Education focus during the week as well as students experiencing a range of cultural activities.


A timetable of the events being held during the week will be attached to next week’s newsletter.


W1 CLASS WOOL DONATION


W1 would like donations of knitting wool for a craft activity.


The class is looking at making “pom poms” next term and would love some bright, colourful wool.


Please deliver the wool to Mrs White’s classroom (Classroom 1 in the building).


WOOLWORTHS EARN &


LEARN Woolworths Earn & Learn promotion is on again this year.


Parents and friends can continue collecting stickers from Woolworths extended to the 12th August.


Remember .. .. The more stickers collected the greater the number of resources the school can purchase.


COLES SPORTS FOR SCHOOLS


Cowra Public School will again be participating in the Coles Sports for Schools voucher collection which enables us to earn points and exchange them for sports equipment.


When you shop at Coles you will receive a voucher for every $10.00 you spend. You only need to bring in or send these vouchers to school. This collection of vouchers started yesterday and will continue until 14 August 2012.


Please encourage anyone and everyone to contribute their vouchers to Cowra Public School. There will be a box at the front office in which to place your dockets.
