Village Meeting 26th April


A dozen turned out for this meeting at the Clubrooms. Under discussion was how the bridge will progress, aged care for our aging population, the dangerous state of the old shop in King Street and the need for a bus shelter for the school children. Difficulties with locating addresses along Warraderry Way were discussed as were the current problems we have with inadequate facilities and opening times of the local tip. 7.30pm when a representative from RTA will further discuss the new bridge project and invite us to participate in planning tree plantings as part of this project.

Sunday markets are returning to Gooloogong. We will be hosting markets on the 2nd Sunday of the month. If you want to have a stall contact Wendy Vickers. Otherwise come down and have a browse. The markets will be held inside or out depending on the weather from 9 till 2ish. The first one will be on Mother’s Day – Sunday 13thMay. Have you got an act for Goolie’s Got Talent? The event will be held at the Log Cabin on 26 May from 7pm. If you would like to register contact Narelle Hughes on 6344 8353 before 20 May. Congratulations Gooloogong on a wonderful Anzac Day. We were pleased to present another successful Anzac Day Commemoration. Great to see so many at the Dawn Service including a dozen children. Breakfast was a great success and thoroughly enjoyed. We especially thank Dennis and Marie Sargent for their efforts in organizing the day. Thank you to the school students for participating and to the community who assisted by providing morning tea. Gooloogong Cowboys FC The Football Club would like to confirm that it hasn’t folded. We haven’t fielded a team this year but are having a year of serious fundraising to allow us to be bigger and better in 2013! Thank you to the Esky Ball organisers for contributing half of the monies raised from this year's ball to the footy club - the ball will be on 2 June. The club is having an auction night on Saturday 7 July - put it in your calendar. It will be a great family night and a great opportunity to perhaps snap up an auction item - one auction item is a Cowboys shirt signed by the Continuous Call Team! We also have Cowboys shirts and jerseys available for sale from the Country Club if you would like to help support our local footy team. Thank you Gooloogong for all your ongoing support

On Sunday 22nd April Gooloogong played Canowindra in Pennants at home. The result was one for the history books, with a draw! Both sides scored 60 shots each; both won one rink each and drew one rink. Both sides walked away with 3 points each for the day! Friday Night


Meat Raffle – 7 meat trays to be won. Key Draw – the cash prize jackpots $50 every game till won. Top prize is $1,000. A few people have won between $800 and $950. Member’s Badge Draw – cash prize jackpots $20 each week till won. You must be there to win!
