By all indicators, Enstrom appears to have a very loyal and satisfied user base. They scored very high in several categories. As a small company, Enstrom indicates that it has been careful in allocating its limited resources to the R&D budget, which may account for its low score in the area of innovation. According to Enstrom, for several years it has concentrated on product improvements to its helicopter product line by certifying optional equipment where appropriate, as well as making their aircraft easier to maintain with lower direct operating costs. Tracy Biegler, Enstrom president and CEO, says, “These may not be highly visible changes, but we believe the improvements do provide significant and increased value to our customers.”

Last year Enstrom became only the third OEM to offer the Garmin G1000H in a helicopter with the certification of the turbine-powered 480B-G. Additionally, the OEM is currently developing and certifying the TH180, which is a new light single, piston-powered helicopter that we believe will be a real game changer in the flight training market.
