Russian Helicopters Signs First Contracts for New Light Ansat


Russian Helicopters has signed two


contracts to supply the modernized light Ansat passenger helicopter manufactured by Kazan Helicopters. Under the agreements, signed at HeliRussia 2015, the fi rst customers for fi ve of the new aircraft will be Tatarstan-based Tulpar Helicopters and Vector Aviation Company.

VIH Aerospace Delivers Rejuvenated Bell 205 to HeliMax Aviation


VIH Aerospace recently delivered in June its latest custom helicopter paint job on a Bell 205 for its US-based customer Helimax Aviation. Helimax Aviation (www.helimaxaviati on.com) specializes in providing a variety of aerial support services, including passenger transport, forestry fi refi ghting, and long-line lift operations.


“We are pleased to have the opportunity to undertake this paint job on behalf of Helimax Aviation. This project included a complete paint scheme and color change, which entailed mechanically and chemically stripping the entire helicopter down to the bare metal, followed by a comprehensive inspection of all external panels and cowlings. Once completed, detailed body work and body fi ll were performed to ensure that our paint team

In addition to the complete strip and painting of the Helimax Aviation Bell 205, VIH Aerospace also performed major structural improvements and repairs, including installation of a BLR FastFin®


and


replacement of the helicopter’s damaged “horse collar.”


VIH Aerospace has extensive experience delivering premium quality standard and custom paint jobs on a variety of fi xed- and rotary-wing aircraft from its Victoria, British Columbia, facilities. Aircraft types range from Cessna fi xed-wings up to a variety of Bell, Airbus, Kamov, and Sikorsky helicopter models. Arneson elaborated that the ability and desire to meet specifi c requirements is


a key deliverable for


VIH Aerospace, and that every project is individually tailored to accommodate operator preferenc es and budgets.


“The niche for commercial Russian-built light helicopters was long the


preserve of the Soviet Mi-2. Now Russian Helicopters has built the unique modern Ansat, which has numerous competitive advantages over other helicopters in its class,” Russian Helicopters CEO Alexander Mikheev said. “We are pleased that the Ansat has found its fi rst customers, and look forward to expanding our order book for this helicopter with orders from foreign helicopter operators.”


Tulpar Helicopters will receive three Ansats, with another two aircraft ordered by Vector Aviation Company. Both clients provide services that include commercial helicopter and fi xed-wing fl ights, service and engineering support for aircraft, helicopter sales, and leasing, operational support, design, and production of VIP interiors and supplying aviation equipment.
