We are Hackney Learning Trust. Join us on an Outstanding Journey

Who are Hackney Learning Trust? Set up in 2002, we were the first private, not-for- profit company in the UK to takeover and transform a council’s entire education function, and we are proud to say we did just that. In 2012 we became a department in Hackney Council’s Children and Young People’s service and we have continued our legacy of achieving great results. Currently 91% of primary pupils, 98% of secondary pupils and 100% of special school pupils attend an outstanding or good school. We have 500 professionals working across 27

specialist service areas, ranging from Early Years provision to Adult Learning support. Our teams include ex - Headteachers, curriculum experts, specialist consultants, and school business and administration experts.

What do you do? Whether helping to improve literacy, embed curriculum changes or prepare for Ofsted, our School Improvement team are at the forefront of our organisation, with an excellent track record of delivering results. We offer both fixed and tailored school improvement packages in developing leadership and management and raising educational standards through effective teaching and learning. Our belief is that the development of staff is

fundamental in moving from good to outstanding. Through central, tailored and creative Professional Training, an Annual Conference Programme and a suite of Publications and resources. We support the whole learning environment from the grass roots up. Schools are increasingly becoming more

commercially focused. Accountability is higher, timescales are shorter and budgets are tighter. Our full range of high quality and efficient Business Services such as HR, Finance and IT means leadership teams can worry less about the day to day logistics and focus on the long term outcomes. Most importantly…we put the student at the

heart of everything we do. Our Pupil Support Services include educational psychology, inclusion, speech and language and are delivered by highly qualified and experienced professionals.

Who are your customers? With a passion for education and innovation, we now work with over 340 schools and educational settings across England and Wales. We have leveraged over a decade of experience of working with Hackney schools to deliver outstanding results to proudly support schools all across the country.

What do your customers say about you? A customer satisfaction survey conducted last year show that 96% of customers were satisfied or very satisfied with our services. Below are some of our customer comments. “I haven’t heard of any other provider that

offers such a combination of high-quality resources and an approach to improving teaching at classroom level, strategic whole school planning and support for both SLT and classroom teachers at the chalkface” Rachel Kitley, Associate Deputy Headteacher, Kingsbury High School, Brent “I found the whole experience invigorating and

spent the evening unable to sleep as my head was buzzing with ideas” Rachel Goodwin, Head of Drama at Attleborough Academy, Norfolk “The HR service has been a fantastic support to

both schools in recent years. The support is rapid and appropriate. The Business Partners are worth their weight in gold when it comes to emergency advice!” Louise Nichols, Executive Headteacher, Gayhurst and Kingsmead Primary Schools, Hackney

What makes you different from other providers? We are not for profit organisation with a passion for education. We are focused on achieving positive outcomes rather than profits. Whilst our services operate independently,

several can work together as an integrated team so schools achieve much greater value. We are experienced in making rapid

improvements, sustaining achievement and developing innovative ideas.

Who can buy your services? We offer our services to Early Years, Primary, Secondary, Colleges, Independent Schools, Academies, Post 16 and Adult Learning settings across the UK.
