Downtown or on the man-made Palm Jumeirah Island, Dubai’s hotels share a philosophy: to offer their guests true Arabian hospitality and a luxury holiday experience. Representing every international hotel

group, from Accor and Armani to Ritz- Carlton and Westin, plus local chains such as Rotana, JA Resorts, The Address Hotels & Resorts and the Jumeirah Group, together they offer 60,000 hotel rooms, with 20,000 more in the pipeline. Emphasising the emirate’s

determination to meet rising demand, the past year has seen numerous openings, among them the Oberoi, The Anantara Dubai Palm, Mővenpick Jumeirah Lakes Towers, the Conrad Dubai, Waldorf Astoria Palm Jumeirah and the Double Tree by Hilton, Jumeirah Beach. The newly-launched Vida Hotels and Resorts is an upscale hotel brand that

promises to deliver ‘inspired guest experiences for the culture-conscious traveller’. It has opened its first property, the 156-room Vida Downtown Dubai, in the Old Town precinct, just a short walk from Burj Khalifa, the souks, Dubai Mall and The Dubai Fountain. Sofitel has also opened two hotels - an

impressive pop art structure Downtown and a Polynesian-themed resort and spa on Palm Jumeirah, adjoining the existing beach hotel. Figures alone cannot tell the full story,

for the sheer range of accommodation is remarkable, allowing visitors to choose self-catering, half-board and all- inclusive packages to suit their pockets. Hotels also come in a range of sizes

from spectacular resorts like Atlantis, The Palm to desert retreats such as Desert Palm, Al Maha and Bab al Shams. Equally spacious and ideal for families

is Jumeirah Beach Hotel. With its striking wave-shaped design, together with the sail-like structure of

neighbouring Burj Al Arab, the hotel symbolises Dubai’s maritime heritage and has the excitement of the Wild Wadi waterpark on its doorstep, which hotel guests get to use free of charge. While the Burj Al Arab is the Rolls-

Royce of hotels, consistently named the world’s most luxurious property, Jumeirah Beach provides all the facilities a family will ever need. It has 617 rooms, suites and villas, 19

restaurants, a scuba diving centre, five swimming pools, Sinbad’s Kids Club and The Hub for teens. Families will also find all the

ingredients for a memorable holiday at Atlantis, The Palm, a striking landmark on the man-made island. It has 1,539 rooms and suites and pays tribute to Dubai’s marine life and the legendary kingdom of Atlantis in a variety of themed attractions. The Lost Chambers Aquarium, for

example, is home to 65,000 marine animals, or guests of all ages can learn
