May, the Sam Noble Museum was awarded the 2014 National Medal for Museum and Library Service, the nation’s highest honor conferred on museums and librar- ies for service to the community.” Kids never tire of seeing the giant dinosaur skeletons but there a lot more in the Hall of Ancient Life including the world’s largest pentaceratops. They can walk through a cave or Ozark forest in the Hall of Natural Wonders and see the oldest painted object in North America, a 10,000 year-old skull, in the Hall of the People of Oklahoma. Currently, two photographic exhibits explore the geo- metric beauty of microscopic fossils and examine food habits of people in other parts of the world. There’s also a hands-on Discovery Room. The museum is open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday, 1
