SWRE Annual Meeting August 14, 2014


Southwest Rural Electric Association will hold its 77th Annual Meeting on Thursday, August 14, 2014, at Fred- erick’s historic Ramona Theatre, 114 South 9th Street in downtown Freder- ick. All SWRE members are encour- aged to attend.

Because SWRE is a cooperative, its customers are also its members and are therefore encouraged each year to attend the annual meeting and take an active part in the democratic process of running their business enterprise.


Registration


Registration will begin at 2:00 p.m. and conclude at 6:55 p.m.


$25 Electricity Credit per Membership at Registration!


All SWRE members who register at this year’s meeting will receive a $25 credit on their SWRE utility bill (One credit per membership).


Even members who cannot attend the evening’s meeting can come by during the afternoon to register and they will receive the credit.


Health Fair A health fair at the meeting will be sponsored by Aspire Home Health Care in Frederick. The health fair will feature stations for checking blood pressure

and other health readings, in addition to information from numerous agencies and ven- dors. The health fair exhibits will open at 4:00 p.m.


Prizes


Door prizes and the $25 utility bill credit will be given to each member at registration. During the annual prize draw- ing after the business meet- ing, prizes will be awarded to members from each of SWRE’s nine districts. Members must be present at the drawing to claim the prizes. The prizes will include many great items, including energy certificates that can be applied toward SWRE utility bills. Grand prize will be a $500 SWRE energy certificate.


Entertainment


Entertainment at the event will begin at 6:00 p.m. and will feature the music of Halie Hilburn and Heath Agnew. The two, performing as Halie and Heath, play numerous kinds of music but con- centrate on songs that are country or have country flair. The two are both Vernon natives and have performed together for 15 years at Vernon talent shows and events.

Halie Hilburn and Heath Agnew


During college Halie was a member of Oklahoma Christian University’s cover band which toured the US and played many area and regional venues. After college she formed a band of her own and in 2012 made it to “American Idol”. She has recorded an album which will be available soon. She and her hus- band Josh Hilburn are parents of four. Heath was a member of the college cover band Summer Singers, and has been a member of many bands through the years. He is currently in the band Chris Clerihew and the West Coast Turnarounds.


Heath and his wife Corlie have three children.


Business Meeting


The SWRE business session will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m.
