His family made the permanent move back to Oklahoma in 1984. Jimmy would graduate high school at Grove in 1987. That fall he enrolled at Northeast Oklahoma A &M in Miami where he would earn an Associate’s Degree in Accounting. In 1989, Jimmy began working toward his four-year de- gree at Northeastern State Univer- sity in Tahlequah. He finished up in 1991 with a Bachelor’s of Busi- ness Administration in Accounting.

“When I graduated in ’91, I was trying to figure out which way to go and what to do,” said Caudill. “I ended up buying some cows, staying around here and working with dad. We just built it togeth- er.”

His education was no less valu- able on the ranch.

“You use it every day whether you know it or not,” he said. “I feel that it has been very bene- ficial.”

Caudill Ranch has several full- August 2014 - 3

and part-time employees. There are around a thousand head of cattle and hay interests on an op- eration that spans nearly five-thou- sand acres. They also manage a construction business that handles agricultural projects such as clear- ing timber and digging ponds.

His father’s dedication to the co- operative was always evident to Jimmy.

“He was very passionate about the cooperative and being able to improve the quality of life for peo- ple in this area,” said Caudill. “To watch that and then to become a part of that was something he took very seriously. Even when he was fighting with cancer, he never missed a board meeting. Even if it meant he had to do a confer- ence call from the hospital. Like him, I think the cooperative is an important part of our community. To be a part of it is an honor.”

If you experience an outage: 1. Check your switch or circuit breaker in the house and on the meter pole to be sure the trouble is not on your side of the service.

2. When contacting the cooperative to report an outage, use the name as it appears on your bill, and have both your pole number and account

number ready.
