Kelly Arnhart

Georgia’s star loves how much the sport has grown in the Peach State

Who is your favorite athlete? Jarvis Jones, linebacker for the Steelers. He was so fun to watch play at UGA and is a beast at tackling.

What’s one thing you can’t live without? Peanut butter. It’s probably my favorite food. I’m really bad about eating a spoonful at night for dessert.

What’s one thing that always puts you in a good mood? My friends. They’re the best. They always know how to make me laugh.

What’s one thing lacrosse really needs? A shot clock would be nice. It would keep the game moving and would be interesting for the fans, especially the last few minutes in a close game.

What’s been the proudest moment of your career? Winning the SWLL championship last year. It was my first time winning

SWLL at UGA and our team played so well together. Definitely one of the most fun games I’ve played in.

What’s the biggest obstacle you’ve overcome? Playing lacrosse from a non-traditional area. When I was going through

the recruiting process, I felt like I had to work twice as hard to get recognized. I absolutely love seeing how much lacrosse has grown, especially in Georgia, and want to contribute to the growth of the sport once I graduate.

If you could meet anyone, dead or alive, who would it be? Ellen DeGeneres. She is not only hysterical, but also extremely generous.

What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done? I went cliff jumping in Negril, Jamaica with my sister.

Overtime (from Penn State coach/Team USA assistant Jeff Tambroni)

What Hollywood actor/actress plays you in a movie about your life? Emma Stone. I think our sense of humor is pretty similar — quirky, witty and a little sarcastic.

Double Overtime (Caulley Deringer, Alexandria, Va.) Who was your lacrosse idol growing up and why? Crista Samaras. I played on XTEAM [club program] for her and she taught me more than I could have imagined both on and off the field. She is an incredible lacrosse player and would always jump in drills with us.

What’s your major? Biology. I’m going to optometry school next

year. My favorite class has been biochemistry. My teacher really made the class interesting and applicable by using case studies.

bucket list? LAXMAGAZINE.COM
