My stick is between my legs and between my shoulders, perpendicular to the ground.


When you go


My hands are choked up on my stick. Your bottom hand naturally slides up the stick for increased protection.


My stick has gone from straight perpendicular to three- quarters. Do this at the last minute to create a shot.


Hands are still choked up. You don’t need a lot of power. Keep your stick protected and tight so you’re not presenting for a trail check.


Try to be as tight to the crease as possible, but give yourself a little wiggle room so you’re not


That lean or tilt in my body may turn into a jump that’s going to create separation. In a game, it might be a half roll, army roll or even a dive. I like to dive tangential to the crease.


I’m


With a wide stance, I’m creating a “house” to protect the stick on the inside.


Move along the arc of the crease, like you’re in orbit.

In this case, keep your stick perpendicular.


I’m


My stick now is parallel to the ground. I can reach around the goalie and access the far pipe.

By dropping my hands, I’m going to shoot a mid- to low-range shot.


The top hand comes back across your body, with your bottom hand pulling into it. That’s how you create whip back to the near pipe.
